Run Instructions

Notes

• Server should go into the lobby before clients should attempt to join the game.
• We are using an evaluation version of our Physics library. The evaluation version does have an expiration date and the demo will not run afterwards.

Installation

• Net Race can run right from the CD. However, if you wish to copy it to a folder on the hard disk, that is also supported.

Run

• Run Net Race by double clicking on Race.exe
• Net Race can play on a local machine, or as a network game
  • Local Game
    • Click 'Start Local Game' from the Main Menu
    • Choose how many players will play on the local machine
    • Pick which car you'll drive, and which level you'll play on
    • Race around the track and see who wins!
  • Network Game
  • You need to decide which machine will run as the host, and which machine(s) will run as the client(s)
    • Host Game
      • Click 'Host Network Game' from the Main Menu
      • Choose how many players will play on the local machine
      • Pick which car you'll drive and which level you'll play on
      • Now you'll be in the lobby, waiting to start the game
      • You can chat with other clients if you wish
      • When all clients have connected, click 'Start Game' to start racing
      • Race around the track and see who wins!
    • Join Game
      • Click 'Join Network Game' from the Main Menu
      • Choose how manu players will play on the local machine
      • Pick which car you'll drive
      • Now you'll be in the 'Available Games' menu.
      • Choose which server you want to play on, and click 'Join Game'
      • Now you'll be in the lobby, waiting for the game to start
      • You can chat with other clients if you wish
      • When all clients have connected, the host will start the game
      • Race around the track and see who wins!

Controls

• Net Race can run with the keyboard or a joystick
  • Keyboard Controls
    • Player 1
      • Arrow Up - Accelerate
      • Arrow Down - Brake
      • Arrow Left - Turn Left
      • Arrow Right - Turn Right
      • Space Bar - Emergency Brake
    • Player 2
      • W - Accelerate
      • S - Brake
      • A - Turn Left
      • D - Turn Right
      • X - Emergency Brake
  • Joystick Controls
    • Up to 4 joysticks can be plugged into a single system to play with split screen action.
